Dual 10-core Xeon Silver 4210 at 2.2 GHz with 16 GB DDR4, PERC H730P RAID and four 960 GB SSDs in a 5U tower
The Dell PowerEdge T440 is a 5U tower server fitted with two Intel Xeon Silver 4210 processors, each running at 2.2GHz with a 3.2GHz turbo frequency. It ships with 16GB of DDR4 ECC registered memory and a PERC H730P controller managing four 960GB SATA solid-state drives. The chassis provides sixteen 2.5-inch hot-swap bays for storage expansion and includes dual-port gigabit ethernet plus iDRAC 9 Express for remote management.
Redundant 750-watt platinum power supplies are hot-swappable, so a failed unit can be replaced without shutting down the server. Drive bays use tool-less carriers that accept 2.5-inch SAS or SATA drives, and the H730P controller supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 plus pass-through mode. The front bezel and ready rails are not included, so plan for separate rack-mount hardware if you intend to convert the tower to a rack format.
Verify that your environment can accommodate a 5U tower form factor and that you have adequate power circuits for dual 750-watt supplies. Confirm the DDR4 ECC registered memory type matches any additional modules you intend to install across the sixteen available slots. Ensure your operating system and hypervisor are compatible with the Xeon Silver 4210 architecture and the PERC H730P storage controller before deployment.

During POST the controller BIOS lists each detected drive and its RAID status; the iDRAC 9 Express dashboard then shows all four 960GB SATA SSDs as online with green health indicators and the configured RAID level active.
The unit includes two Xeon Silver 4210 processors, 16GB DDR4-2400 ECC RDIMM in two 8GB modules, the PERC H730P 2GB controller with battery, four 960GB 2.5" SATA SSDs, dual-port Gigabit Ethernet, iDRAC 9 Express and two 750W platinum power supplies; front bezel and ready rails are not included.
The board has sixteen DDR4 slots and supports up to 1TB; the installed 16GB (2x 8GB) leaves fourteen slots free, so add matched DDR4-2400 ECC registered DIMMs in pairs to reach the capacity your workload requires.
