Tower server with dual 12-core Xeon Gold 5118 CPUs, 96 GB DDR4, two 800 GB SATA SSDs and redundant 495 W power supplies
The Dell PowerEdge T440 is a 5U tower server built around two Intel Xeon Gold 5118 processors, each with twelve cores at 2.3GHz. It ships with 96GB of DDR4 memory and a PERC H330 RAID controller managing two 800GB SATA SSDs. Redundant 495W power supplies and eight 3.5-inch hot-plug drive bays support continuous operation in office or rack environments.
Dual twelve-core CPUs deliver 48 threads with hyper-threading, keeping all cores fed through six memory channels per socket at up to 2666MT/s. The H330 controller handles RAID 0, 1, 5, 10, 50 and 60 across the hot-plug bays, letting storage arrays rebuild or scrub without taking the system offline. Redundant power supplies share load so a single unit failure does not interrupt compute tasks.
Confirm the 5U height and physical footprint suit your rack or floor space before ordering. The board provides up to five PCIe Gen3 slots and sixteen DIMM slots, but memory is already at the 96GB installed limit with this CPU pair. Network connectivity is limited to two 1GbE LOM ports plus a dedicated iDRAC port; additional NICs require open PCIe slots.

Each supply is rated at 495W; the redundant pair shares the load so typical draw stays well below the combined maximum.
The system uses 16 DDR4 slots running up to 2666MT/s; the 96GB shipped fills a subset of those slots.
Yes, the 8-bay chassis accepts 3.5" SAS or SATA drives and the H330 controller supports RAID 0/1/5/10/50/60 across mixed sizes.
