The Dell PowerEdge XE9680 is a 6U rack server built for large-scale artificial intelligence, machine learning and deep learning workloads. It supports up to two Intel Xeon Scalable processors and eight high-performance GPU accelerators in a single chassis. The platform targets research labs and enterprises that need dense compute for model training and inference.

Security-focused chassis with flexible storage

The server uses cryptographically signed firmware, Secure Boot, silicon root of trust and optional system lockdown to protect hardware integrity. Data-at-rest encryption is available on self-encrypting drives with local or external key management. Front bays accept up to eight 2.5-inch NVMe, SAS or SATA SSDs or up to sixteen E3.S NVMe direct drives for high-throughput local storage.

Confirm your rack can accommodate a 6U form factor and that power distribution can handle the selected accelerator configuration. Processors are not installed; you must choose either 4th or 5th Generation Intel Xeon Scalable CPUs to set memory speeds at 4800 MT/s or 5200 MT/s across the 32 DDR5 slots.
