Precision 5530 UHD mobile workstation

This 15.6-inch Dell Precision 5530 is a new mobile workstation built around an 8th Gen Intel Core i7-8850H six-core processor and an NVIDIA Quadro P1000 graphics card with 4 GB GDDR5 memory. It ships with Windows 10 Pro and includes a Dell AC adapter. The UHD multi-touch InfinityEdge display targets professionals who need accurate colour on the move.

3840 x 2160 touch display

The 15.6-inch panel delivers a 3840 x 2160 UHD resolution with IPS technology and 72% colour gamut coverage. Multi-touch input and InfinityEdge bezels make it suitable for detailed visual work and direct interaction. Buyers who need a non-reflective matte finish or a lower-resolution panel for longer battery life should consider other models.

16 GB DDR4 and dual 256 GB M.2 plus 1 TB SSD

The system provides 16 GB of DDR4 memory and a dual-drive layout combining a 256 GB M.2 drive with a 1 TB SSD. This capacity handles large project files, virtual machines and local asset libraries comfortably. Users planning to run memory-intensive simulations or store multi-terabyte datasets will hit the 16 GB RAM ceiling and the fixed storage total.

Questions about this item

How does the 3840 x 2160 UHD touchscreen look in daily use?

The 15.6 inch IPS panel shows 3840 x 2160 pixels with 72 percent colour coverage, so text stays sharp and multi-touch input works across the full surface.

What does the Thunderbolt 3 port actually let me connect?

Thunderbolt 3 carries x4 PCIe lanes and HDMI 2.0 signalling, so a single cable can drive external GPUs, fast NVMe storage or a 4K monitor.

Will the 256 GB M.2 drive and 1 TB SSD both fit inside the chassis?

Yes, the laptop ships with both drives installed — one M.2 slot holds the 256 GB boot drive and a second bay holds the 1 TB SATA SSD.
