Mobile workstation for professional workloads

The Dell Precision 5530 is a 15.6-inch mobile workstation built around an 8th Gen Intel Core i7-8850H six-core processor and NVIDIA Quadro P1000 graphics with 4GB GDDR5 memory. It targets engineers, designers and analysts who need certified professional graphics in a portable chassis. Windows 10 Pro is pre-installed.

Connectivity and expansion inside a thin chassis

The system provides two USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports, one Thunderbolt 3 port and an HDMI 2.0 output for external displays and peripherals. A 128GB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD handles boot and primary storage while 8GB DDR4 RAM supports multitasking. The InfinityEdge IPS panel covers 72% colour gamut for colour-sensitive tasks.

Bundled power and input ready for deployment

A Dell AC adapter is included so the workstation can be powered immediately without sourcing a separate supply. The integrated webcam and headphone/microphone combo jack support remote collaboration out of the box. Buyers who need larger storage capacities or higher memory configurations should consider other models.

Questions about this item

When does the Core i7-8850H hit its thermal ceiling under continuous load?

The six-core processor runs at 2.60 GHz base and can reach 4.30 GHz with Turbo Boost until the dual-fan cooling system balances heat dissipation.

What noise and heat levels should I expect from the dual-fan cooling during all-day rendering?

Dual fans increase airflow to keep the chassis cool under sustained workloads; fan speed scales with GPU and CPU temperature.

Which ports and power adapter must I already have to use the Thunderbolt 3 and HDMI 2.0 outputs?

The laptop includes a Dell AC adapter and provides one Thunderbolt 3 port plus one HDMI 2.0 port for external displays.
