Precision 7680 mobile workstation

The Dell Precision 7680 is a 16-inch mobile workstation built for engineers, designers and data scientists who need certified application stability. It pairs a 20-core Intel Core i7-13850HX processor with 64 GB of DDR5 CAMM memory and a 1 TB NVMe drive. An NVIDIA RTX 1000 Ada Generation GPU with 6 GB of dedicated video memory handles 3-D modelling, rendering and AI-assisted workloads. Windows 11 Pro ships pre-installed.

Dual-fan thermal design and power profile

Advanced thermals use dual opposing output fans and user-selectable thermal tables to keep the system cool under sustained load. The 250-nit anti-glare WUXGA panel operates at 45 % NTSC colour coverage without a touch layer, reducing both power draw and weight. Wireless connectivity runs on 802.11ax for stable high-speed network access during long compute sessions.

CAMM memory, port layout and durability

LPCAMM2 DDR5 modules deliver high bandwidth in a thinner, more serviceable form factor than traditional SO-DIMMs. Physical ports include one USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C and two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A connectors for peripherals and external displays. The chassis meets MIL-STD 810H testing for daily wear, while a built-in camera shutter and ComfortView Plus low-blue-light screen support privacy and eye comfort.

Questions about this item

How do I install the 64GB LPCAMM2 DDR5 module, and what step do people often miss?

The 64GB LPCAMM2 DDR5 module screws into its slot; the step people miss is tightening the captive screws fully so the module seats flat and makes reliable contact.

What maintenance will the dual opposing output fans and thermal tables need later?

Clean the dual opposing output fan vents periodically; the user-selectable thermal tables are software-controlled and need no physical service.

What limit appears first during sustained loads on the 16.0" 250-nit anti-glare panel?

The 250-nit brightness ceiling is reached before the panel overheats, so extended outdoor or high-ambient-light work hits a visibility limit first.
