Dual Xeon Platinum 8260M Rack Server

The Dell Precision 7920 2U rack server delivers 48 total cores across two Intel Xeon Platinum 8260M processors. It targets organisations that run complex simulations, large-scale virtualisation or AI workloads requiring high-density compute in a standard rack footprint. The system ships with Windows Server 2025 pre-installed for immediate deployment.

256GB DDR4 ECC Memory and 12TB RAID 5 Storage

Installed memory is 256GB of DDR4 ECC running at 3200 MHz across 24 DIMM slots, expandable to 3TB for heavier workloads. Four 4TB 2.5-inch SSDs provide 16TB raw capacity configured in RAID 5, yielding approximately 12TB usable space with single-drive fault tolerance. Two PCIe 3.0 slots remain for additional storage or networking cards.

RTX A1000 GPU and iDRAC9 Remote Management

The Nvidia RTX A1000 8GB graphics card adds ISV-certified visualisation for CAD, 3D design and video production through one VGA and four Mini-DisplayPort outputs. Integrated iDRAC9 Enterprise enables remote hardware monitoring, update deployment and troubleshooting without physical access. Buyers needing more than two expansion slots or GPU compute beyond 8GB VRAM should consider alternative platforms.

Questions about this item

Will the 24 DIMM slots accept my existing DDR4 ECC modules at 3200 MHz?

Yes, the server has 24 DIMM slots supporting DDR4 ECC memory at 3200 MHz, so compatible modules can be added alongside the installed 256GB.

How can I verify the RTX A1000 8GB is recognised after installation?

Check Device Manager in Windows Server 2025; the RTX A1000 8GB should appear under Display adapters with 8 GB VRAM shown.

Does the rack-mount kit ship with the server or must I order it separately?

The rack-mount kit is included in the box with the Precision 7920 server, power cables, Windows Server 2025 pre-installed and the user manual.
