Replacement lid assembly for Precision M6400

This genuine Dell part replaces the 17-inch LCD back cover and hinge set on a Precision M6400 workstation. It arrives new and includes both left and right hinges plus the wireless and broadband antenna wires. The trim bezel is not supplied, so the original bezel must be reused.

Durable hinge mechanism for repeated opening

The integrated hinges are built to withstand daily opening and closing cycles on a mobile workstation. They maintain consistent tension over time, keeping the display stable at any angle without sagging or sudden spring-back during sustained use.

OEM fit with antenna routing included

Precision-moulded mounting points align with the M6400 chassis, ensuring a secure fit without modification. Pre-routed antenna wires simplify reassembly and preserve wireless reception, while the missing bezel means the existing front trim is retained for a factory appearance.

Questions about this item

Will the hinges on this K886F lid assembly loosen or squeak after all-day use?

The assembly includes factory-fitted left and right hinges designed for the Precision M6400; they operate without motors or fans, so they add no noise or heat during continuous operation.

My M6400 chassis is missing the front trim bezel — do I need to source that separately for this K886F cover to fit?

Yes, the supplier notes that no trim bezel is included; you must reuse your original bezel or obtain a compatible one for the 17" Precision M6400.

Can I keep my existing wireless and broadband antenna cables when swapping to this K886F lid?

The replacement lid already routes new wireless and broadband antenna wires through the hinges, so you can disconnect the old cables and connect the supplied ones.
