Genuine Dell Precision M6400 Base Assembly

Technicians Rebuilding a Precision M6400

This part suits repair technicians or owners restoring a Precision M6400 to original specification. It is not suited for other Dell models or laptop series. Buyers needing a complete bottom cover with speakers, screws, or door covers included should source those items separately. The assembly provides the specific latches and base structure for this model only.

Dell Part Number NM6H1 Compatibility

The NM6H1 part number confirms exact fitment for the Precision M6400. Verifying this number against the original chassis is the single step that ensures correct alignment of mounting points and latch mechanisms. No other part number will guarantee the same physical compatibility for this specific laptop model.

Questions about this item

Does the NM6H1 base assembly add any fan noise or heat once installed?

The part is a passive plastic and metal-alloy chassis piece with no moving components, so it produces no noise or heat of its own.

What existing laptop parts must I already have to complete the repair with this base?

You will need to reuse your original speakers, all mounting screws, and any door or cover panels, because those are not included with the NM6H1 assembly.

Will the display latch and battery bay latch on this base fit the original Precision M6400 hinges and battery?

Yes, the included display latch assembly and battery bay latch are designed to the original M6400 specifications and mate directly with the factory hinges and battery.
