Replacement LCD Back Cover for Dell Precision M65

This 15.4 inch lid assembly fits Dell Precision M65 and M4300 laptops. It ships new with left and right hinges, wireless antenna cables and the LCD latch already installed. The part carries Dell part number UN799. Buyers who need a complete display kit should note the bezel and mount rails are not included.

Installation limits for a lid assembly

The cover matches the original chassis mounting points for the listed Precision models. It also fits Latitude D830 and D820 units, though the exterior carries Precision branding. No other laptop lines are confirmed compatible. Builders working on different chassis or screen sizes cannot use this part.

Straightforward swap with common pitfalls

Installation requires removing the old lid, transferring the display panel and routing the antenna cables through the hinge channels. The most frequent issues are pinched wireless cables, misaligned hinge screws and forgetting to reconnect the latch spring. Careful cable management avoids signal loss after reassembly.

Questions about this item

Should I choose the Precision M65 or the M4300 version of this 15.4" back cover?

This single UN799 cover fits both the Precision M65 and the M4300; no separate version is needed.

What does the 15.4" measurement tell me once the cover is fitted?

It matches the 15.4" display diagonal of the Precision M65 and M4300 chassis, so the lid aligns with the existing hinge points and latch.

Which interface or standard does the UN799 cap in practice?

The cover uses the original Dell hinge mounting pattern and wireless antenna routing, so it caps mechanical fit and signal path to the factory specification.
