Precision M6700 workstation laptop

This Dell Precision M6700 is a 17.3-inch mobile workstation built around a quad-core Intel Core i7-3740QM processor running at 2.7 GHz. It comes with 32 GB of DDR3L memory, a 512 GB SSD for the operating system, and a 1 TB hard drive for bulk storage. The 1920 x 1080 anti-glare display and NVIDIA Quadro K3000M graphics with 4 GB of DDR5 video memory target professionals who need reliable performance for CAD, design or engineering tasks on the move. Windows 10 Pro 64-bit is pre-installed.

Check power, memory and drive bays

Verify that the included 240 W AC adapter matches your region's mains voltage and connector type. The system ships with 32 GB of DDR3L RAM installed; confirm whether the two SO-DIMM slots are both populated or if one remains free for future expansion. Ensure the 2.5-inch drive bay housing the 1 TB hard drive is secured and that the SSD is recognised as the primary boot device in the BIOS before deploying critical workloads.

Docking, peripherals and thermal headroom

The chassis provides a docking connector for a compatible Dell port replicator, plus USB ports, a DVD-RW drive and a full-size keyboard with numeric keypad for desktop-like ergonomics. Discrete Quadro graphics offload rendering from the CPU, freeing processor cycles for compute-heavy applications while the dual-drive layout separates OS responsiveness from high-capacity file storage. The 17.3-inch form factor allows a robust cooling solution to sustain performance during extended sessions.
