Genuine Dell Purple 14" LCD Back Cover

This genuine Dell original Purple 14" LCD back cover lid assembly includes left and right hinges and wireless antenna cables. It is manufactured for Dell Studio 1457 and Studio 1458 notebooks. The part number is 5PPDY and the finish is Purple. No trim bezel is included with this assembly.

Bundled hinges and antenna cables simplify repair

The included left and right hinges and wireless antenna cables are pre-installed on the cover. This reduces the number of separate parts you must source and shortens the time needed to complete the screen replacement. You can transfer the existing LCD panel and bezel onto this assembly without ordering extra hardware.

Verify exact model and bezel requirement before

Confirm your laptop is a Studio 1457 or Studio 1458, as this cover fits only those systems. The trim bezel is not included, so you must reuse your original bezel or obtain one separately. Check that your current hinges and antenna routing match the layout shown for this part number.

Questions about this item

Will the hinges or wireless antenna cables on this 5PPDY lid assembly need replacement during the laptop's life?

The assembly includes left and right hinges plus wireless antenna cables; hinges can loosen after repeated opening cycles and cables may fatigue, so inspect them when servicing the display.

What is the first limitation that appears when this Studio 1457 or 1458 lid is used continuously?

The plastic lid and integrated hinges are the primary wear points; hinge stiffness typically degrades before the shell shows stress under normal daily opening and closing.

Does the purple 14" back cover affect heat, noise or power draw when the notebook runs all day?

The cover is a passive plastic shell with no fans or electronics, so it adds no heat, noise or power consumption during extended operation.
