Barebone chassis and processor

Who this suits and who it does not

This unit suits integrators building a custom 1U rack server from a validated chassis and CPU combination. It is not for buyers who need a fully populated system with memory, storage or redundant power already installed and tested.

Single 450W power supply

A single 450W power supply ships with the chassis and provides the only source of power. Systems requiring redundant power supplies or higher wattage for additional components will need a different platform.

Questions about this item

What physical space does the R260 barebone require for mounting?

The R260 is a rack server designed for standard equipment racks; it uses Dell ReadyRails sliding or static rails.

How is the E2414 processor installed, and what step is often missed?

The E2414 drops into the LGA 3647 socket; the critical step is tightening the heatsink retention screws in a diagonal pattern to ensure even pressure.

What maintenance will the 450W power supply need over time?

The single 450W supply relies on internal fans and intake filters; plan to clean dust from the filters every few months to maintain airflow.
