  • SAS interface delivers reliable enterprise-grade connectivity
  • 5 inch form factor fits standard desktop drive bays
  • New condition ensures full manufacturer specifications out of the box

High-performance 146 GB SAS drive

This 3.5-inch hard drive spins at 15,000 RPM and connects through a SAS interface. It delivers 146 GB of storage for servers and workstations that need fast sequential access. The drive is supplied in new condition and is ready for installation in compatible drive bays.

Best for transactional workloads

Database servers and high-throughput logging systems benefit from the high spindle speed and SAS reliability. Desktop PCs and consumer NAS units that only support SATA controllers cannot use this drive. Buyers who need larger capacities or solid-state latency should consider alternative storage types.

SAS interface requirement

The drive requires a backplane or controller card with a native SAS port to operate. A standard SATA-only motherboard header will not recognise the device. Verify that your system supports SAS signalling before purchasing.

Questions about this item

How loud and hot does the ST3300657SS-H get when running continuously at 15000 RPM?

At 15000 RPM the drive produces noticeable mechanical noise and heat; adequate case airflow is recommended for sustained operation.

What host connector and controller does the ST3300657SS-H require?

The drive uses a SAS interface, so a SAS host bus adapter or RAID controller with a compatible SAS port is needed.

Will the 3.5 inch SAS ST3300657SS-H work in a system that only has SATA ports?

A SATA-only port cannot communicate with this SAS drive; a SAS controller or backplane is required for operation.
