Dell PowerEdge SAS Hard Drive 4 TB

This drive is a 3.5-inch SAS hard disk built for Dell PowerEdge servers. It spins at 7200 RPM and provides 128 MB of cache to support sustained throughput in multi-drive arrays. The unit is new and intended for enterprise storage deployments rather than desktop use.

Suited for server storage expansion not desktop PCs

IT teams expanding capacity in compatible PowerEdge chassis will find the 6 Gbps SAS interface matches backplane requirements. Builders assembling a home workstation or gaming rig should look elsewhere because the SAS connector and firmware are not supported by consumer motherboards.

Verify SAS backplane and controller compatibility

Confirm that your server backplane accepts 3.5-inch SAS drives and that the RAID or HBA controller supports 6 Gbps operation. Check available drive bays and caddy requirements before ordering to ensure mechanical fit and electrical compatibility.
