Dell 4 TB SAS hard drive for PowerEdge servers

This new 3.5 inch internal drive delivers 4 TB of storage on a 6 Gb/s SAS interface with a 128 MB cache. It spins at 7200 RPM and ships with the R-series caddy for direct installation. The unit is built for Dell enterprise environments.

Suits Dell PowerEdge R310 through R720xd

Buyers whose systems lack a SAS backplane or the correct drive tray should look elsewhere because the drive requires a SAS connector and the supplied caddy fits specific PowerEdge slots. Desktop PCs without SAS controllers cannot use this drive.

6 Gb/s SAS interface decides compatibility

The single specification that determines fit is the SAS 6 Gb/s interface paired with the included R-series caddy. Only servers listed in the compatibility table accept this combination. Verify your backplane and tray type before purchase.
