Dell 600 GB 10000 RPM SAS drive

This Seagate Savvio drive provides 600 GB of storage and spins at 10000 RPM. It connects through a 6 Gbps SAS interface and uses a small form factor. The unit includes self-encrypting drive technology for data protection.

Suited for servers and storage arrays needing fast

Buyers who require a larger capacity than 600 GB should consider other options. Systems without a SAS controller cannot use this drive. The 2.5 inch form factor may not fit 3.5 inch bays without an adapter. Environments needing a different interface protocol will need alternative drives.

Questions about this item

How do I verify the drive spins at 10000 RPM and communicates over SAS after installation?

The drive should appear in the RAID or HBA BIOS at 6 Gbps SAS link speed and SMART data will report 10000 RPM rotational speed.

What is included in the box and do I need to buy a SAS cable or tray separately?

Only the 600 GB SFF SAS drive is supplied; a compatible SAS cable and 2.5-inch drive tray or caddy must be purchased separately.
