Questions about this item

Will the 128MB cache need any firmware updates or replacement during the drive's life?

The 128MB cache is a fixed hardware buffer on the ST600MM0069 and does not require firmware updates or separate replacement.

What performance limit appears first when the 10000RPM drive runs at sustained 12Gbps SAS throughput?

The mechanical 10000RPM spindle speed sets the maximum sustained transfer rate before the 12Gbps SAS interface saturates.

How much heat and power does the 2.5in SAS drive produce when operating continuously in a Gen14 PowerEdge server?

The 2.5in form factor and 10000RPM motor generate typical enterprise HDD heat levels; the included Gen14 caddy ensures proper airflow in compatible PowerEdge bays.
