Questions about this item

Will the 12Gb/s SAS drive negotiate down to 6Gb/s on my Gen12 backplane?

The drive uses a 12Gb/s SAS interface and will auto-negotiate to 6Gb/s when installed in a Gen12 chassis, but it is validated for the listed Gen13 PowerEdge servers.

How can I confirm the 15000RPM spindle is spinning correctly after installation?

The drive will appear in the RAID controller BIOS or iDRAC with the correct 600GB capacity and SAS link speed; SMART data will show zero reallocated sectors on a new unit.

Does the 2.5in caddy ship attached, or do I need a separate tray for my R730?

The product includes the Dell hot-swap caddy pre-mounted on the drive, so no additional tray is required for the compatible PowerEdge models.
