Dell 300 GB SAS server drive

This 2.5-inch SAS hard drive delivers 300 GB of storage at 10 000 RPM with a 6 Gb/s interface and 16 MB cache. It ships new with a Dell PowerEdge caddy tray for direct installation in compatible servers. The drive is built for enterprise workloads that require consistent rotational speed and SAS connectivity.

Suits PowerEdge bays needing 10K SAS

The drive fits the listed PowerEdge models including R610, R710, R720, T610, T620 and M610 among others. It is not for systems that lack a 2.5-inch SAS backplane or that require a different interface protocol. Buyers needing higher capacity or solid-state performance should consider other options.

6 Gb/s SAS interface decides fit

The single specification that determines compatibility is the 6 Gb/s SAS interface. The server or controller must support this exact interface for the drive to function. Verify the backplane and controller specification before purchase.
