Dell 300 GB 15K SAS Drive

This 2.5-inch internal hard drive delivers 300 GB of storage on a 6 Gb/s SAS interface. It spins at 15000 RPM with a 64 MB buffer and ships with an R Series caddy for direct installation in compatible Dell PowerEdge servers. The drive is new and intended for enterprise storage arrays.

Sustained Workload Behaviour

The 15000 RPM spindle speed supports consistent throughput for random I/O workloads such as databases and virtualisation hosts. A 64 MB cache helps absorb write bursts and reduces latency during heavy queue depths. The SAS 6 Gb/s link maintains bandwidth without the half-duplex limitation of older parallel SCSI buses.

Build And Mounting

The 2.5-inch form factor fits dense server chassis and the included R Series tray secures the drive in hot-swap bays across the listed PowerEdge models. A 1.0 pound weight reflects the ruggedised construction designed for continuous operation in rack environments. No additional mounting hardware is required for the supported systems.
