Genuine Dell replacement cover for Studio 1745

This is an original Dell centre control cover that fits the Studio 1745, 1747 and 1749 laptops. It replaces the speaker panel and keyboard trim shroud without any electronic circuitry. The part carries Dell part number MT2RR and arrives in new condition.

Physical fit and finish under daily use

The cover clips onto the chassis and stays secure during normal opening and closing of the lid. Because it contains no moving parts or electronics, its behaviour does not change under sustained thermal load or vibration. Surface scratches may appear over time, but the structural clips remain intact.

Limits of the laptop chassis mounting system

The part relies on the original plastic mounting tabs and screw bosses of the Studio 1745 1747 1749 chassis. If those tabs are cracked or the screw holes are stripped, the cover will not seat correctly. No adhesive or alternative fastening method is supplied with the part.

Questions about this item

Does this control cover generate any noise, heat or power draw when the laptop runs all day?

No, the cover is a passive plastic trim piece with no electronics, so it produces no noise, heat or power consumption.

What else must I already own for this MT2RR cover to fit and work?

You need a Dell Studio 1745, 1747 or 1749 laptop; the cover simply clips onto the existing chassis above the keyboard.

Will this cover interfere with older internal components I keep in a Studio 1745, 1747 or 1749?

It sits above the keyboard and speaker grilles only, so it does not contact the motherboard, memory, storage or cooling parts.
