300 GB 10K SAS drive for 2.5" bays

This 300 GB hard drive spins at 10,000 RPM and connects through a 6 Gbit SAS interface. It fits a standard 2.5 inch drive bay and is sold as a Dell-compatible part under model T871K. The unit is new and supplied in retail or OEM packaging.

Best for capacity-limited SAS arrays

The drive suits servers or storage arrays that require a 300 GB SAS spindle in a 2.5 inch form factor. It is not for systems that only provide SATA backplanes, nor for builds that need larger capacities or solid-state performance. Buyers who want more storage or a non-spinning medium should look elsewhere.

6 Gbit SAS interface decides compatibility

The single specification that determines fit is the 6 Gbit SAS interface. The host must present a SAS controller or backplane that supports this link speed; a SATA-only connection will not work. Verify the controller before purchase.

Questions about this item

How can I confirm the 10000RPM SAS drive is operating correctly after installation?

The drive should be recognised by the system BIOS or RAID controller at its full 300GB capacity and the SMART data should show a healthy status with no reallocated sectors.

What is included with the T871K drive and what must I source separately?

The drive itself is supplied; a SAS cable, a compatible SAS backplane or HBA, mounting screws and a 2.5" drive bay or adapter are not included and must be purchased separately.

Which capacity and speed version of the T871K should I select for a 300GB 10K SAS requirement?

This specific T871K model is the 300GB 10000RPM SAS variant; no other capacity or speed options are listed for this part number.
