Genuine Dell OEM ribbon cable connecting the touchpad on Inspiron 13 7347, 7348 and 7352 models
This is a genuine Dell OEM ribbon cable that connects the touchpad assembly inside compatible Inspiron 13 laptops. It carries the Dell part number GHHGD and matches the Cottonwood 450.01V08.001 and HB 14.46 alternates. The cable is supplied new and is intended for repair or replacement of a damaged flex connection.
As a passive flex circuit the cable generates no heat, produces no audible noise and draws no power of its own. It simply carries low-voltage signals between the touchpad and the mainboard. Normal system thermals and acoustics are therefore unchanged by the part.
Installing this cable restores the electrical link required for the built-in touchpad to function. Without it the pointing device will not register input, forcing reliance on an external mouse. The replacement returns the laptop to its original trackpad operation without additional drivers or software.

Power off the laptop and disconnect the battery. Open the ZIF latch on the touchpad board and the motherboard by flipping it up, insert the cable gold contacts down, then close each latch fully before reassembling.
No scheduled replacement is required; the cable is a passive flex circuit. Only replace it if the touchpad becomes intermittent or fails after physical stress or liquid exposure.
The flex circuit can develop fatigue cracks at sharp bend points after repeated lid cycles, causing intermittent touchpad signals.
