Genuine Dell Venue 8 Pro 3845 replacement digitiser

This new Dell Y3J89 LED LCD touch screen digitiser is built for the Venue 8 Pro 3845 tablet. It restores the original 8.0 inch WXGA display with 1280 x 800 resolution and glossy finish. Technicians and owners repairing a cracked or unresponsive panel will find the correct part number here.

Thermals noise and power draw

The digitiser assembly draws negligible power from the tablet battery and adds no audible noise during operation. LED backlighting runs cool compared with older CCFL panels so thermals stay within the device design limits. No extra cooling or power provision is required beyond the tablet’s own supply.

Build fit and freedoms

The part matches the factory mounting points and ribbon connector of the Venue 8 Pro 3845 so it seats without modification. Replacing the damaged digitiser frees the tablet for continued touch input and full-screen visibility. Buyers needing a different screen size or a non-touch panel will need another component.

Questions about this item

How do I install the 8.0" digitizer on my Venue 8 Pro 3845 and which step is often missed?

Separate the glass panel from the frame, disconnect the old flex cable, connect the new Y3J89 cable fully, then reseat the adhesive strips — the step most people skip is cleaning the frame surface so the new adhesive bonds securely.

What part of this touchscreen assembly will need replacement first with daily use?

The glossy finish on the 1280x800 LED panel shows micro-scratches before the digitizer layer loses sensitivity, so a tempered-glass protector extends the usable life of the Y3J89 screen.

What limit appears first when the tablet runs a heavy workload for hours?

The 8.0" LED backlight and digitizer controller share the thermal budget of the Venue 8 Pro 3845 chassis, so sustained high brightness causes the panel to dim automatically before any touchscreen malfunction occurs.
