Genuine Dell 15.6" LCD Back Cover

This genuine Dell replacement part is a 15.6-inch LCD back cover assembly for Vostro 1550 and 1540 laptops. It carries part number YN2V6 and includes the wireless LAN antenna cables. The cover restores the original lid appearance and wireless reception after damage.

Fits Vostro 1550 and 1540 only

Owners of a Dell Vostro 1550 or 1540 needing a lid replacement can use this cover. Buyers with any other Dell model or a different 15.6-inch laptop should look elsewhere because the mounting points and cable routing are model specific. This part also lacks hinges and a camera cable.

Missing hinges and camera cable

The assembly ships without hinges and without the camera cable, so you must reuse your original hinges and camera cable or source them separately. If you need those components included, this part alone will not complete the repair.

Questions about this item

Will I need to buy separate hinges or a camera cable when fitting this LCD back cover?

Hinges and the camera cable are not included with the YN2V6 cover, so you must reuse the original hinges and supply a camera cable separately.

What is the first limitation I will hit if I keep the laptop running with this replacement cover installed?

The cover itself has no moving parts or electronics, so it does not impose any thermal or performance limit on the Vostro 1550 or 1540.

Does this back cover add any fan noise, heat or extra power draw once the laptop is on all day?

The plastic lid assembly is passive; it adds no fan noise, generates no heat and draws no power during continuous operation.
