Dell Vostro 1700 Power Button Cover

This genuine Dell OEM cover assembly replaces the centre control power button on the Vostro 1700 notebook. It restores the original tactile feel and protects the underlying switch from dust and accidental presses. The part carries Dell part number DX500 and arrives in new condition. It is intended for owners or repair technicians servicing this specific laptop model.

Direct replacement for Vostro 1700 centre control

The assembly fits only the Dell Vostro 1700 chassis; it will not align with other Vostro series or Inspiron models. Buyers needing a full palm-rest, keyboard bezel or alternative colour options cannot use this part. No tools or additional fasteners are included, so installers must reuse existing hardware. If the power button board itself is damaged, this cover alone will not restore function.

Questions about this item

Will this DX500 center control cover fit the Vostro 1700 chassis I already own?

The DX500 part number is listed for the Vostro 1700 notebook, so it matches the original chassis mounting points for that model.

How can I confirm the power button works correctly after installing this cover?

Press the button; the laptop should power on or wake from sleep with the same tactile click as the original assembly.
