Verify Vostro 3400 compatibility

Confirm the laptop is a Vostro 3400 before ordering because the part is model specific. Check that the existing palmrest uses the same connector layout for the touchpad, fingerprint sensor, power button, media controls and speaker cables.

Black finish with integrated modules

The black palmrest houses the touchpad circuitry, click buttons, fingerprint reader, media keys, status LEDs, power button board and stereo speakers in one piece. This reduces the number of separate cables to route during installation and restores the original look and feel.

Questions about this item

Does the 3HFG2 palmrest for the Vostro 3400 ship with speakers and the power button board already fitted?

Yes, the assembly arrives complete with left and right speakers, the power button circuit board, media buttons, LEDs, touchpad circuitry, buttons and the fingerprint reader all pre-installed.

The listing shows only one part number — 3HFG2 — so is there any alternative version or capacity I should consider?

No, 3HFG2 is the single Dell part number for this Vostro 3400 palmrest assembly; no other versions or capacities exist for this chassis.

Once fitted, does the integrated fingerprint reader on this palmrest work with Windows Hello without extra drivers?

The reader is the original Dell component, so Windows Hello recognises it automatically after the standard Dell driver pack is installed.
