Genuine Dell OEM Base Cover

This genuine Dell OEM base bottom cover assembly is designed for Vostro 3590 and 3591 laptops equipped with an optical disc drive. It replaces a damaged or missing lower chassis section. The part includes the integrated optical drive bay, rubber feet, and three captive screws. It restores the structural integrity of the laptop frame.

Direct Replacement for Vostro Chassis

The assembly fits directly into the existing laptop structure without requiring modifications to surrounding components. It provides the necessary mounting points for the motherboard, optical drive, and bottom screws. The included captive screws remain attached to the cover, reducing the risk of lost hardware during maintenance. Rubber feet are pre-installed for immediate stability.

Maintains Alignment Under Daily Stress

The rigid construction keeps internal components aligned during frequent transport and thermal cycling. Captive screws maintain consistent clamping force over repeated removal cycles. The optical drive bay retains its shape to prevent disc read errors caused by chassis flex. Rubber feet resist compression-set to keep the base level on uneven surfaces.

Questions about this item

How long will the captive screws hold up if I remove the base cover repeatedly?

The assembly includes three captive screws designed to stay attached; they are rated for normal service cycles but Dell does not publish a cycle count.

Does the bottom cover get hot enough to affect comfort during all-day use?

The cover is a passive metal and plastic chassis piece; it does not generate heat itself and will only reflect the laptop's internal temperatures.

Which specific Vostro models must I already own for this base cover to fit?

This part fits only Vostro 3590 and 3591 laptops that were built with an optical disc drive.
