Houses two 14-core blades with 256 GB DDR4 and twelve 12 TB SAS drives in a 5U rack chassis with 1 Gb switch and redundant power
This Dell VRTX server is a 5U rack system that holds two PowerEdge M630 blade modules. Each blade carries a pair of Intel E5-2680v4 processors running at 2.4 GHz with 14 cores and 35 MB cache. The chassis provides 256 GB of DDR4 memory and twelve 3.5-inch bays filled with 12 TB 7.2K SAS drives.
The platform fits teams that want compute and capacity in a single 5U enclosure with redundant 1600 W power supplies and iDRAC8 Express remote management. Buyers who need more than eight PCIe slots, faster integrated networking than the 1 GB switch module, or additional RAID controllers should evaluate other architectures.
Storage is delivered by twelve 12 TB 7.2K SAS hard drives managed through the single PERC8 S130 RAID controller. This combination determines usable capacity, throughput and RAID options for the deployment.
