A 1U rack security appliance with four gigabit Ethernet ports and dual management interfaces
The DELL X2010 is a 1U rack-mount server system supplied new. It carries the Imperva SecureSphere firmware and is intended for inline network security tasks such as web-application firewalling, database activity monitoring or DDoS mitigation in a data-centre rack.
The four 10/100/1000 BASE-T ports suit environments that still run copper gigabit links and need a dedicated inline sensor. Teams requiring fibre uplinks, higher port density or 10 GbE throughput should evaluate other appliances.
The fixed complement of four copper gigabit ports defines the appliance's maximum inline throughput and segment count; if your design needs more than four monitored links or fibre interfaces, this model will not meet the requirement.

Each port auto-negotiates at 10, 100 or 1000 Mbps, so the practical ceiling per link is 1 Gbps full duplex.
The chassis is a 1U form factor and includes internal fans and a PSU, so it consumes one rack unit of vertical space.
Connect Ethernet cables to the four BASE-T ports, use the two RJ-45 management ports and the RJ-45 serial console, then power on via the included PSU.
