Genuine Dell XPS 14 Palmrest Assembly

This genuine Dell palmrest assembly includes the glass touchpad and cable for the XPS 14 L421x ultrabook. It matches the original Dell part number DK2X0 and restores the factory fit and finish. The part is designed for owners replacing a worn or damaged palmrest on this specific model.

Thermals noise and power draw in normal use

The palmrest assembly has no active cooling, fans or power circuitry, so it produces no noise and draws no power. Its aluminium and glass construction passively dissipates hand warmth during typing. Operation remains silent and thermally neutral under all normal usage conditions.

Questions about this item

How do I install the palmrest assembly on the XPS 14 L421x, and which step is commonly missed?

Remove the bottom cover, disconnect the battery, then detach the old palmrest cables; the step often missed is reconnecting the glass touchpad ribbon cable under the new assembly before securing the screws.

What maintenance or replacement will the glass touchpad on this DK2X0 palmrest need later?

The glass touchpad surface may develop fine scratches or lose sensitivity over time; if tracking degrades, the entire palmrest assembly must be replaced as the touchpad is integrated and not serviceable separately.
