Ready-to-work 15.6-inch laptop

The Dell XPS 15 9520 arrives with Windows 10 Home installed, an Intel Core i7-12700H processor at 2.3 GHz, 16 GB of memory and a 512 GB SSD. The 1920 x 1200 non-touch display gives a tall 16:10 workspace for documents and code. It suits professionals and students who need a portable machine that is productive immediately.

Sustained workloads on integrated graphics

The Intel Iris Xe graphics share system memory, so extended 3D or video tasks run within the thermal envelope of the thin chassis rather than hitting a discrete GPU limit. Clock speeds settle to maintain temperature during long compiles or rendering sessions. Buyers who want more graphics headroom for heavy creative work or gaming should note the integrated-only design.

Verify memory and OS plans before ordering

The 16 GB of RAM is soldered and cannot be upgraded later, so confirm the capacity fits your multitasking needs now. Windows 10 Home is pre-loaded; a move to Windows 11 Pro is possible but not included. Check that your essential peripherals connect over the available ports on this model.

Questions about this item

How much heat and fan noise does the Core i7-12700H produce when the XPS 15 9520 runs all day?

The 12th Gen Core i7-12700H at 2.30GHz with integrated Iris Xe graphics shares the 15.6-inch chassis cooling; sustained loads will spin the fans audibly and warm the palm rest, but the 16 GB RAM and 512 GB SSD generate minimal extra heat.

Which peripherals or docks must I already own to use the XPS 15 9520 out of the box?

Only the included charger is required; the 15.6-inch 1920 x 1200 non-touch screen, 16 GB memory and 512 GB SSD are built in, so no external monitor, keyboard or storage is needed to start working.

Can I keep using my older USB-A accessories with the XPS 15 9520?

The specifications list only the Core i7-12700H, 16 GB RAM, 512 GB SSD, 15.6-inch 1920 x 1200 display and Iris Xe graphics; port types are not detailed, so check the side of the unit for USB-A before relying on legacy cables.
