Genuine Dell XPS 15 Base Cover

This genuine Dell original base bottom cover assembly is designed for the Dell XPS 15 laptop. It fits the L501X and L502X models precisely. The part number is 70FM3. It restores the structural integrity of the chassis.

Sustained Protection and Fit

The assembly includes the battery latch mechanism and the base bottom cover. It shields internal components from dust and physical impact during daily transport. The OEM construction maintains the original alignment of ports and vents. It withstands repeated opening and closing cycles without warping.

Model-Specific Compatibility

The single specification that decides fit is the exact model number match: L501X or L502X. This part will not fit other XPS 15 revisions or different Dell series. Buyers who need a cover for a newer XPS 15 generation cannot use this assembly. Verify the service tag before ordering.

Questions about this item

Does the base cover get warm or make noise when the XPS 15 runs all day?

The cover is a passive metal chassis part; it has no fans or electronics, so it adds no heat or sound of its own.

What existing hardware must I already have to fit this 70FM3 cover?

You need a Dell XPS 15 L501X or L502X chassis; the part bolts directly to that frame and reuses your current battery latch.

Will the screw holes line up if I keep my original L501X hinges and palm-rest?

Yes, the 70FM3 is the OEM bottom assembly for both L501X and L502X models, so all mounting points match the factory layout.
