17-inch 4K UHD laptop with RTX 4070

The Dell XPS 9730 is a 17.0-inch mobile workstation that pairs a 14-core Intel Core i7-13700H processor with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 laptop GPU and 8GB GDDR6X video memory. It ships with 48GB of system memory and a 2304GB SSD running Windows 11 Pro.

Suited to colour-critical creative work.

The 3840 x 2400 non-touch panel targets professionals who need high pixel density for editing, rendering or multi-window development. Buyers who rely on pen or finger input, or who need a lighter chassis for daily commuting, should look at something else.

48GB unified memory configuration

The 48GB RAM capacity is the specification that determines whether this unit matches the workload; it supports large datasets, heavy multitasking and GPU-accelerated creative pipelines without paging to the 2304GB SSD.

Questions about this item

What Wi-Fi standard does the XPS 9730 use and what practical throughput ceiling does 802.11ac impose?

The laptop uses 802.11ac Wireless LAN; in practice this caps real-world throughput well below the 5 GHz theoretical maximum, so sustained file transfers and streaming top out at typical 802.11ac rates.

What physical space and mounting pattern does the 2304 GB SSD require inside the 17.0 inch chassis?

The 2304 GB solid-state drive fits the standard M.2 2280 slot in the XPS 9730; the motherboard provides a single screw standoff at 80 mm for secure mounting.

How is the 48 GB of memory installed and which step do owners most often miss?

The 48 GB is factory-soldered and not user-upgradable; the step people miss is checking upgradeability before purchase, as no SO-DIMM slots exist on this model.
