Questions about this item

How is the Dell XPS L702X palmrest chassis bracket DWM44 installed and what step do people often get wrong?

The bracket sits beneath the palmrest and screws into the main chassis frame; the step people miss is tightening the hidden screws under the keyboard deck before snapping the top cover back.

What maintenance or replacement will the DWM44 bracket need over time?

The metal bracket itself rarely wears, but the plastic screw bosses can crack if the laptop is flexed repeatedly, so replace it if the palmrest starts to lift or creak.
