DELL Y9457 IEEE 1394A PCI Controller Card

This DELL Y9457 controller card adds IEEE 1394A FireWire connectivity to a desktop computer through a standard PCI slot. The full-height bracket fits traditional tower chassis. It provides a legacy interface for older peripherals such as DV camcorders, external hard drives or audio interfaces that rely on the 1394A standard. The card is supplied in new condition.

Buyers adding FireWire ports to a legacy desktop

This card suits users who need to connect IEEE 1394A devices to a motherboard with an available PCI slot. It is not for builders using modern motherboards that lack PCI slots entirely. Buyers requiring the faster 1394B standard or a low-profile bracket for small form factor cases should look elsewhere.
