1/87 scale CAT 315C L excavator

This 1/87 scale diecast model replicates the CAT Caterpillar 315C L hydraulic excavator in authentic Cat Machine Yellow. It features a detailed interior and exterior, realistic tracks, and movable boom and stick components. The officially licensed collectible arrives in the manufacturer's original unopened packaging.

Display stability and handling

The model is constructed from diecast metal with some plastic parts and measures approximately 3.5 inches long, 1.125 inches wide, and 2.25 inches high. Its fixed construction has no opening panels, so the exterior detail remains intact during handling. The compact blister pack uses secure attachment points to protect the model until it is removed via the pull-back tab.

Collectors seeking functional features

Buyers who want opening doors, engine covers or cab access will not find them on this sealed model. The fixed boom and stick movement is the only mechanical function provided. Shoppers looking for a larger scale or a model with removable panels should consider other options.

Questions about this item

Does the 1/87 scale model generate any noise, heat or draw power when displayed all day?

No — it is a static diecast replica with no motor, electronics or battery, so it runs silent, cool and without any power draw.

What additional items are required for the excavator to function as intended?

Nothing extra is needed; the model arrives fully assembled in its blister pack and is ready for display or layout use straight from the box.

Will the 3.5-inch long 315C L sit correctly beside older HO-scale rolling stock and structures?

Yes — it is built to true 1/87 proportions, so it matches the scale of standard HO trains, buildings and scenery without looking oversized or undersized.
