128GB SDXC UHS-I Class 10 card

This 128GB SDXC card uses the UHS-I interface and carries a Class 10 speed rating. It is designed for cameras, camcorders, smartphones and other portable devices that accept SDXC media. The card ships in a plain plastic case without a retail box or sticker label.

UHS-I bus and speed limits

The UHS-I bus caps the theoretical maximum read rate at 50MB/s and the write rate at 15MB/s. Sustained performance will vary with the host device, file system overhead and card temperature. Class 10 guarantees a minimum sequential write of 10MB/s, which suits Full HD video but may not satisfy higher-bitrate formats.

Check device compatibility before ordering

Verify that your equipment supports the SDXC standard and the UHS-I speed class. Older hosts limited to SDHC will not recognise the full 128GB capacity. Devices without UHS-I support will fall back to lower speeds, reducing the benefit of the rated 50MB/s read and 15MB/s write figures.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 128GB version or a smaller capacity?

The 128GB card gives the largest space available in this listing, holding thousands of photos or hours of Full HD video, while smaller cards cost less but fill faster.

What does the 50MB/s read speed actually deliver in my camera?

It lets you offload large RAW bursts to a computer quickly and keeps live-view playback smooth, though sustained write tops out at 15MB/s for continuous shooting.

How does the UHS-I interface limit real-world performance?

UHS-I sets the bus ceiling, so the card’s 50MB/s read and 15MB/s write are the maximum you will see; it cannot reach the higher throughput of UHS-II or UHS-III slots.
