DIYSELF 12×18 in Self-Healing Mat

The DIYSELF DIY1-BDB-1039 is a self-healing cutting mat measuring 12 by 18 inches. Its vinyl surface recovers from cuts to maintain a smooth workspace. A printed half-inch grid with 45 and 60 degree angle lines runs on both sides. The mat weighs .136 kilograms and is non-toxic.

Quilters and paper crafters

This mat suits quilters, sewists and paper crafters who need a portable A3 surface with precise alignment guides. The double-sided grid supports repeated rotary cutting and trimming. Buyers who want a larger work area or a thicker mat for heavy industrial blades should look elsewhere.

Half-inch grid with 45 and 60 degree lines

The defining specification is the half-inch grid printed with 45 and 60 degree angle lines on both faces. It dictates cutting accuracy for patchwork, applique and model making. If your projects demand a different grid spacing or angle markings, this mat will not meet those needs.

Questions about this item

What size rotary cutter or craft knife works with the .5 in grid?

Any standard rotary cutter or craft knife fits the .5 in grid; the printed 45° and 60° lines help guide straight and angled cuts.

Will the double-sided surface stay flat when placed on a slightly uneven desk?

The .136 kg vinyl mat lays flat on most desks; the non-stick PVC surface resists curling and the self-healing layer closes cuts to keep the top even.

How can I check that the self-healing layer is still closing cuts after heavy use?

Make a test cut on a scrap piece; if the groove disappears within seconds the self-healing layer is still active.
