13/32-inch Cobalt Extension Bit

This cobalt steel drill bit measures 13/32 inch with an overall length of 12 inches and a flute length of 3-7/8 inches. The heavy-duty split point design improves starting accuracy on hard materials. It is built for aircraft extension work and general metal drilling tasks. Mechanics and fabricators who need extra reach in tough alloys will find it suitable.

Straightforward chuck installation

The bit fits standard drill chucks that accept a 13/32-inch shank, so setup is a simple insert-and-tighten action. The split point reduces walking, but cobalt steel is brittle and can snap if side pressure is applied or if the workpiece moves. Overheating from excessive speed dulls the edge quickly, and the long flute can clog in deep holes without frequent withdrawal.

Questions about this item

How can I confirm the 13/32 inch cobalt bit is drilling true after chucking it in my drill press?

Run the bit at low speed and watch the split point centre itself without wandering; the 12 inch overall length should stay straight and the 3-7/8 flute length clears chips cleanly when the feed pressure is steady.

What exactly comes in the package and do I need a separate pilot drill for the .4062 decimal size?

The box contains only the single 13/32 inch cobalt aircraft extension drill bit; no pilot drill, cutting fluid or hex shank adapter is included, so purchase those separately if your application requires them.
