15/16" Reduced Shank Cobalt Drill Bit

This Drill America bit uses cobalt steel with bronze oxide surface treatment for drilling hard metals. The 1/2 inch reduced shank fits standard drill chucks while the 15/16 inch cutting diameter handles large holes. Silver and Deming styling provides rigidity in demanding applications.

Upgrade from standard high-speed steel bits

Cobalt construction resists heat and wear better than basic steel when cutting stainless steel or tough alloys. The reduced shank allows use in 1/2 inch chucks without a larger drill press. Choose this bit when standard bits dull quickly or snap under heavy feed pressure.

Questions about this item

Will the 1/2in reduced shank fit my drill chuck?

The 1/2in reduced shank fits any chuck that accepts a 1/2in shank, letting you use the 15/16in cutting diameter on a standard drill.

What is the correct way to install the bit so it does not slip?

Open the chuck fully, insert the reduced shank until it seats against the jaws, then tighten each jaw evenly; the step people miss is failing to seat the shank fully before tightening.
