Drill America 29/64in Cobalt Bit

This Drill America cobalt drill bit features a 29/64 inch diameter with a reduced 3/8 inch shank for compatibility with smaller chucks. The bronze oxide surface treatment on the flutes enhances wear resistance during heavy-duty drilling tasks. It suits metalworkers and mechanics who need durable performance in tough alloys. Buyers requiring a full 29/64 inch shank diameter will find this reduced shank design unsuitable for their needs.

Easy chuck fit for 3/8 capacity

The reduced shank allows immediate use in any 3/8 inch capacity drill chuck without special adapters or sleeve bushings. Cobalt steel construction maintains hardness at high temperatures but the material is brittle and can snap if the bit binds or wanders off-centre. Applying steady pressure and using cutting fluid prevents premature breakage. Users without rigid drill presses or adequate coolant setups should expect shorter tool life in hard metals.
