31/64in HSS Aircraft Extension Bit

This 31/64in high-speed steel aircraft extension drill bit is built for deep-hole drilling in metal. The 6in overall length reaches into confined spaces where standard bits cannot. It suits maintenance technicians and fabricators who need a single long-reach bit for occasional heavy-duty work.

Surface-treated flute clears chips

The surface-treated flute improves chip evacuation during extended drilling cycles. No extra accessories or software are bundled with this bit. Buyers who need a full set of incremental sizes or a cobalt variant for harder alloys should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

When will the high-speed steel cutting edges need resharpening or replacement?

Resharpen when the 31/64 inch diameter no longer cuts cleanly; the high-speed steel can be reground multiple times before the bit must be replaced.

What limits continuous drilling before the bit overheats?

The 4-3/8 inch flute length restricts chip evacuation and heat dissipation, so sustained use in deep holes will cause overheating first.
