Drill America 1/4in Carbide Tipped Jobber Bit

This Drill America D/ACT1/4 is a carbide-tipped jobber length drill bit designed for power and pneumatic tools. The 1/4 inch cutting diameter with a decimal equivalent of .2500 suits general-purpose drilling tasks. It targets mechanics and fabricators who need a durable bit for portable drilling equipment.

2-3/4in Flute Length Defines Hole Depth

The flute length measures 2-3/4 inches, which sets the maximum practical drilling depth in a single pass. Buyers needing deeper holes without Peck drilling or a longer bit should verify this reach first. The overall length is 4 inches, so ensure your chuck and workspace accommodate that envelope.

Questions about this item

What does the .2500 decimal equivalent mean when I chuck this bit into a drill?

The .2500 figure is the exact inch diameter, so the bit will cut a 1/4" hole in metal, wood or plastic when used in a standard drill chuck.

What shank standard does this jobber-length bit use and what does that limit?

It has a straight 1/4" shank that fits any three-jaw chuck, limiting use to drills that accept a 1/4" round shank.
