Carbide-Tipped Masonry Bit

The Drill America DAM18X1/2 is a carbide-tipped masonry drill bit built for tradespeople and DIY users who drill anchor holes in brick, concrete or sandstone. Its 18-inch overall length reaches deep into walls or floors without needing an extension.

Round Shank And Wide Flutes

A 3/8-inch round shank fits standard portable electric drill chucks for quick changes on site. Wide spiral flutes clear dust quickly in softer masonry, while the black oxide finish resists corrosion during storage and daily use.

118-Degree Point For Anchor Clearance

The 118-degree conventional point centres the bit accurately at the start of each hole. Carbide tips are brazed to tough steel bodies and ground larger than nominal size so anchor screws, expansion shields and toggle bolts install without binding.

Questions about this item

What does the 118-degree conventional point mean for starting holes?

The 118-degree conventional point centres the bit quickly in brick, concrete and sandstone so it starts cleanly without wandering.

Will the 3/8" round shank fit my drill chuck?

Yes, the 3/8" round shank fits any standard three-jaw chuck that accepts up to 3/8" diameter.

How do I install the bit so the carbide tip does not chip?

Tighten the chuck firmly on the round shank, keep the drill perpendicular to the surface, and let the wide flutes clear dust without forcing the feed.
