Pilot specifications

The Drill America DEWPIL13/16X3/8 is a 13/16 inch diameter pilot with a 3/8 inch shank designed for counterbore tools. It provides the guiding element for two-piece counterbore assemblies used in metalworking and maintenance tasks.

Interchangeable design

The pilot fits into a two-piece counterbore construction where the cutter and shank are integral and the pilot is interchangeable. This arrangement allows the operator to swap pilots for different hole sizes without replacing the entire counterbore cutter.

Regulatory notice

The product carries a California Proposition 65 warning indicating it contains a chemical known to the state to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm. Users should follow standard shop safety practices when handling and machining with this accessory.

Questions about this item

How does the 13/16" pilot diameter match the counterbore cutter?

The 13/16" pilot fits the matching counterbore cutter so the enlarged hole follows the original bore accurately.

What shank size does the 3/8" pilot need in the tool holder?

The 3/8" shank fits standard drill chucks and quick-change holders that accept a 3/8" round shank.

How do you install the interchangeable pilot into the two-piece counterbore?

Insert the pilot into the counterbore cutter body and secure it with the set screw; the step often missed is tightening that screw before use.
