High-speed steel annular cutter with pilot pin cuts clean 1-13/16 inch holes using magnetic drill presses only
Drill America DWC5-530-172 is a high-speed steel annular cutter measuring 1-13/16 inches in diameter with a one-inch depth of cut. It includes a pilot pin and features a 3/4-inch Weldon shank for magnetic drill presses only. The tool cuts just the material needed to form the hole, reducing waste and cutting time. It is intended for metal fabrication and maintenance professionals.
This cutter replaces twist drills or hole saws when clean, accurate holes are required in thick plate or structural steel. The jump is worth it when repeatable hole quality, faster cycle times and lower thrust force matter on a magnetic drill press. It is not suited for handheld drills, stationary drill presses or any machine lacking a Weldon shank receiver. The design targets production speed in suitable equipment.
Fabricators, welders and maintenance crews using magnetic drill presses with a 3/4-inch Weldon arbor will benefit from the fast, burr-free holes this cutter produces. Buyers needing larger diameters, deeper cuts or carbide-tipped life should look at other tooling. Shops without a mag drill or with only standard drill chucks cannot use this cutter. California Proposition 65 warnings apply to this product.

It uses a 3/4" Weldon shank that fits the corresponding arbor on a magnetic drill press.
Insert the supplied pilot pin through the cutter's centre hole; it centres the cut and ejects the slug — a step often missed is forgetting the pin entirely.
Replace the pin when its tip wears down or no longer centres cleanly, otherwise the cutter will wander and the slug may jam.
