Thread Size & Material
The #10-80 High Speed Steel round adjustable die cuts external threads on rod or pipe. It is intended for maintenance and repair work where a replaceable threading tool is required.
Adjustment & Chamfer Design
A fine-pitch screw opens or closes the die halves for precise fit, and the beveled slot permits holder-based adjustment without removing the screw. One face carries a 2 to 3 thread chamfer for starting, the opposite face a 1 to 1-1/2 thread chamfer for threading near a shoulder.
Proposition 65 Notice
The product contains a chemical identified by the State of California as a cause of cancer and of birth defects or other reproductive harm. Buyers who require a tool without this warning should select a different die.

Questions about this item
Will the HSS die need resharpening or replacement after extended threading?
The high-speed steel construction provides improved wear life; resharpen or replace when thread quality declines or the 2-to-3-thread chamfer shows visible wear.
What limits continuous threading with this #10-80 adjustable die?
The fine-pitch adjustment screw controls the cutting diameter; once the die halves reach their maximum spread the thread size can no longer be increased.
Does the die generate noticeable heat or require lubrication during all-day use?
High-speed steel resists heat buildup, but cutting fluid is recommended to reduce friction and prolong the life of the 13/16-inch OD die.
