Target voltage range and battery types

This smart charger handles 19.2 to 24 volt NiCd and NiMH battery packs. It is designed for owners of e-bikes, e-scooters and hunting lights who need a single mains-powered unit for those pack voltages. The charger accepts 120 to 240 volt AC input for worldwide use and comes with a Tamiya plug plus optional charging clips. A temperature sensor with BEC male connector is included and must be attached to the pack before charging.

Capacity headroom and charge times

Packs up to 13000 mAh take about 8.5 hours, 10000 mAh packs about 6.5 hours and 5000 mAh packs about 3 hours at the fixed 1.5 amp constant current. Larger capacities will require proportionally longer times beyond the quoted range. The charger stops automatically when the pack is full, using delta-V detection and the temperature sensor to prevent overcharge.

Mandatory temperature sensor

The charger will not protect the battery unless the supplied temperature sensor is firmly attached to the pack and plugged into the charger before every charge cycle. Without the sensor connected, the unit cannot monitor pack temperature and the manufacturer disclaims liability for any resulting damage.
